Rocket Spools are now manufactured in the UK to our own design & specification; precision engineered to ultra-tight tolerances (microns!) & with an absolute perfect balance. We have now moved the goal posts even further in the world of distance casting.
The 5500 sized spool weighs 13g as against the standard 19g & the 6000 sized spool weighs 14g as against the standard 20g; this represents a weight saving of 30%.
This lightness results in reducing the braking requirement at the start of the cast, less drag & a smoother cast.
The (ABU) Record Sport 2100 was the first reel to feature the patented centrifugal braking system, and it's popularity was greatly enhanced by Sweden's own Ake Dalberg. This Tournament Caster from Stockholm came up in the Tournament Casting circuit in Sweden in the mid 1940s, setting World Records in distance baitcasting at the 1947 International Competition in Hamar, Norway & the 1948 contest in Wimbledon Park, London.
By the 1950s ABU were producing a special order Record Sport 2100 equipped with an ultralight tournament spool for Tournament Casters. So what's new?
